Always check the weather forecast. Weather can change fast and at any time in the mountains. Be prepared for anything, (rain, snow, hail, wind) even in the summertime. Pack for all weather.

If you plan on hiking or doing any kind of activity in the mountains, do consider the wildlife and make sure to read up on wildlife safety before your trip.

Always carry bear spray on you, even in town. You can purchase this spray at some grocery stores and gas stations. Read directions carefully to avoid any accidents.

Be aware that there are “dead spots” in the mountains, where cellular service will be unavailable. Make sure you tell someone where you plan to go, when you are expecting to return and have a safety plan in place.

If you plan to come during the Winter months, please make sure to have Winter tires on your vehicle as the roads can become slippery and dangerous.

Even though our resort is safely tucked away avalanches are common in the mountains. If you plan to explore the backcountry areas, be prepared in case one does occur.

June, July and August are considered the busiest months to visit Banff National Park and the surrounding area. Make sure you plan accordingly and take that into consideration.

If you are planning to do a Lake Louise/Moraine Lake tour, be sure to book far in advance because spots do fill up fast. You may book with our front desk. Keep in mind you can drive to Lake Louise but not Moraine Lake.
